Ganderbal: The residents and transporters in this central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district rue the “pathetic” condition of the road from Main Market Gund to Rezan Sonamarg.

Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a delegation of drivers expressed their frustration over the non-macadamization of the road due to which they “face tremendous difficulties”.

The road has developed ditches and potholes at several places including Rezan, Gund, Kullan, and Rayil, causing significant damage to our vehicles, the drivers told KNO.

A local of Gund said the road condition is “terrible”. “We are facing immense hardships due to the dilapidated condition of the road connecting our areas. The government’s tall claims of providing better connectivity have proven to be just hollow slogans,” he said.

We have several times approached the concerned authorities but to no avail, said another resident.

The locals and transporters have urged Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and the concerned department to repair the road and macadamize at the earliest—(KNO)
