KISHTWAR, MARCH 14: One-day Refresher Training Programme under the Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) was organized today by the Education Department Kishtwar in collaboration with the J&K Board of School Education and the J&K AIDS Control Society under the supervision of Chief Education Officer Kishtwar Sanjay Dogra at HSS Boys Kishtwar.
The programme witnessed the participation of 100 teaching officials from High and Higher Secondary Schools of district Kishtwar, aimed at strengthening their capacity to effectively address adolescent-related issues within educational institutions.
The Chief Education Officer, who was the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the programme.
The Chief welcomed the participating teaching officials and resource persons and highlighted the crucial role of teachers in guiding adolescents through the challenges of this sensitive and transformative phase of life.
He emphasized that schools must function as safe and supportive spaces where students receive proper guidance on mental health, life skills, emotional well-being, and awareness regarding substance abuse and other health-related concerns.
During the programme, expert sessions were delivered by distinguished resource persons from the School Education Department, DIET Kishtwar and the Department of Health Services through the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Kishtwar.
The sessions were conducted by Dr. Sharda, Dr. Wajid, Dr. Maneeza, and Riaz Ahmed Butt, Sr. Lecturer, DIET Kishtwar, who shared valuable insights on various aspects of Adolescence Education and Life Skills Development.
The trained teaching officials will now act as School Counsellors and resource persons in their respective institutions, disseminating awareness and providing guidance to students across the district under the framework of the Adolescence Education Programme.
At the conclusion of the programme, participation certificates were distributed among all the participants.
