RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 30: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today presided over the PM Awas Mela–Shehri, an anchor event organized under PMAY 2.0 and as part of the Sewa Parv here at the Community Hall T-Chowk.

Facilitating Grihipravesh, the Deputy Commissioner handed over the keys of new houses to the beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana (Urban) provided in the Municipal areas of Ramban, Banihal and Batote, marking a significant step towards fulfilling the vision of “Housing for All.”
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said that the government is committed to providing pucca houses with basic amenities to all eligible urban poor houseless families. He emphasized that the PMAY-U scheme aims not only to ensure accommodation but also to improve the overall quality of life of beneficiaries.
On the occasion, various departments including Urban Local Bodies, Banks, Revenue, JPDCL and Health Department set up stalls to spread awareness about their respective schemes. Beneficiaries were apprised of interest subsidy schemes, spot loan facilities, income certificate issuance, land title clearances and power-related benefits under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
The DC urged the public to actively participate in government welfare schemes and assured that the district administration will extend handholding to people for availing the benefits of all beneficiary oriented and public centric schemes.
