KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 30: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv, District Employment and Counselling Centre Kathua, under the aegis of District Administration Kathua, organized a Job Fair at its officer premises drawing an enthusiastic response from the youth of the district.
The Fair witnessed participation of nearly 100 students from different Colleges of Kathua and adjoining areas, who registered themselves as job aspirants in pursuit of diverse career opportunities.
The event also provided a platform to familiarize youth with digital career solutions, as more than 50 participants downloaded the Mission YUVA App on the spot to access real-time job notifications, career counselling modules and entrepreneurship schemes.
Six reputed companies—Raxa Security Services Ltd., Pidilite Industries Ltd., Varun Beverages Ltd., Kandhari Beverages Pvt. Ltd., Jupiter Aluminium Ltd, and Chiripal Poly Film Ltd.—set up their stalls to interact with candidates and conduct preliminary screenings.
Together, these companies offered more than 267 vacancies in varied job roles such as Security Guard, Packing Helper, Electrician, Production Engineer, Maintenance Trainee Engineer, Fitter, Apprentices, MIS Executive, ITI Trainees, ITI Fitter/Electrician, ITI Welder, Junior Engineer (JE), Engineer, Shipping Assistant, Store Assistant, Store Helper and Forklift Operator.
The day-long recruitment exercise witnessed 26 candidates being shortlisted, while one candidate secured on-the-spot selection, marking an encouraging beginning for many aspirants. Company representatives appreciated the enthusiasm, preparedness and skill levels of the candidates and assured to extend more opportunities in the future.
In addition to job placements, the participants were also sensitized about government schemes designed for youth empowerment, particularly Mission YUVA, which aims to provide a comprehensive platform for career growth, skill enhancement and entrepreneurship development. The officials present motivated the candidates not only to look for salaried jobs but also to explore avenues of self-employment and innovation to emerge as job creators in the long run.
Deputy Director, E&CC Kathua Harvinder Singh said the Job Fair not only served as a recruitment platform but also as a career awareness exercise, bridging the gap between job seekers and leading organizations and reinforcing the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment under Sewa Pakhwada.
