Sopore Working Journalists Association constitutes body

Srinagar, Sep 12 : The Sopore Working Journalists Association (SWJA) on Friday constituted a body to represent and strengthen the voice of journalists working in the region.

As per a statement issued to the news agency—, Mehraj ud Din Lone (ANN News) was unanimously elected President, while Aabid Nabi (Daily Excelsior) was chosen Vice President. Suhail Khan will serve as Secretary, Waris Fayaz (KNO — News Agency) as Spokesperson and Mohammed Ayoub as Treasurer.

The Association reiterated its commitment to upholding free, fair and responsible journalism while working collectively for the welfare of its members.

The office bearers assured that they would address the issues faced by journalists in Sopore and strengthen the association to ensure their professional interests are effectively represented.

The general members of the association, as per the statement, include Nadeem Qayoom (Voice TV Urdu), Junaid Peer (KPS), Muneeb Ul Haq (Varmul Post), Peerzada Tahir (Hindustan Reader/YB), Showket M. Lone (Hindustan Reader), Iqbal Amin (Greater Now), Junaid Bhat (Asian News Hub), Bilal Ahmed Dar (Good Morning Kashmir), Adnan Dar (Kashmir Rays), Bilal Ahmed (Nida-e-Kashmir), Khan Jahangeer (JKNS), Yasir Najar (Kashmir Bulletin) and Aadil Nazir (Danik Savera)—
