Ganderbal: The district administration Ganderbal on Tuesday appreciated the stone crusher owner who voluntarily agreed to evacuate Kahcharai land measuring 8 kanals in the Watalbagh area saying he has “set an example for others”.

The owner gave an undertaking to the concerned revenue authorities of Tehsil Lar, an official of the district administration said.

The district administration reiterated that the encroachment drive shall be strict as per various court directions and orders from time to time.

Furthermore, it was informed that most of the retrieved land has been handed over to various departments like Horticulture, Agriculture, RDD and others so that the same could be utilised for various developmental purposes as per the requirements, to benefit the masses at the ground level.

The administration has sought the cooperation of the masses and appealed to all those who have grabbed State land illegally to hand over it voluntarily to the revenue authorities, saying this land belongs collectively to the masses and no one has legal right to it—(KNO)
