RAJOURI, OCTOBER 15: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma and Transport Commissioner Visheshpaul Mahajan, the Transport Department Rajouri in collaboration with J&K Bank, Gujjar Market Branch today organized a welfare initiative for commercial vehicle operators here at Bella Bus Stand Rajouri.

A dedicated camp was established at the bus stand to facilitate insurance renewals, provide guidance on social security schemes and promote awareness regarding the ill effects of substance abuse and the importance of a drug-free life for road safety.

During the camp, 180 drivers were enrolled under the insurance scheme, ensuring financial protection and social security coverage for them and their families.

Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Rajesh Gupta said that such initiatives not only ensure financial security for drivers and operators but also play a significant role in spreading awareness about responsible driving and healthy living.

He further informed that the department, under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner and Transport Commissioner will continue to organize similar outreach programs across the district to cover all categories of commercial vehicle operators.

Officials from J&K Bank and the Transport Department interacted with participants and urged them to avail the benefits of the schemes designed for their social and economic uplift.
