BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 25: The Waqar Knowledge Centre at Mini Secretariat Bandipora today hosted students of Classes 9th to 12th from Government Higher Secondary School Buduaab, Tulail.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, interacted with the students and enquired about their experiences during their exposure visit to the University of Kashmir, Government Unani Medical College, Ganderbal and Kishanganga Hydro Electric Power Project. She encouraged the students to make the most of such exposure opportunities and explore diverse avenues for higher education and career development.
Interacting with the students, the DC said that the District Administration has taken steps to strengthen educational arrangements in Gurez. She said that Gurez has good enrolment across its schools, adding that there is significant scope to further improve the quality of education and learning outcomes in the Sub-Division.
Highlighting initiatives under the Aspirational Block programme, the Deputy Commissioner said Tulail has received an award of ₹1.5 crore from NITI Aayog. She added that around 50 ideas have been received from the people of Gurez for inclusion under the development plan.
She highlighted the proposed solar-enabled Mobile Knowledge Centre as one of the community-driven ideas aimed at taking educational resources closer to students in remote areas. She also emphasised the importance of strengthening library facilities to promote reading and learning.
The interaction provided the students an opportunity to share their experiences and engage with the Deputy Commissioner on education, career choices and opportunities for personal development.
