5720 new coronavirus cases, five deaths in JK

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Friday reported five deaths and yet another big spike of 5,720 cases pushing the number of active cases to 34,882.
With five more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,591 and 5,720 fresh positive cases reported on Friday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 384,381.
Of the exact number of 384,381 cases, 242,057 are from Kashmir division and 142,324 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 5,720 new cases, 3,830 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,890 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 242,057 including 216,427 recoveries and 2,350 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 142,324 including 128,481 recoveries and 2,241 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 34,882 including 23,280 from Kashmir division and 11,602 from Jammu division.
With 1,890 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 344,908 which is 89.43 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 1,341 from Srinagar, 688 from Baramulla, 550 from Budgam, 170 from Pulwama, 208 from Kupwara, 237 from Anantnag, 241 from Bandipora, 246 from Ganderbal, 106 from Kulgam and 43 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,890 from Jammu division include 1,306 from Jammu district, 100 from Udhampur, 62 from Rajouri, 103 from Doda, 61 from Kathua, 99 from Samba, 18 from Kishtwar, 48 from Poonch, 22 from Ramban and 71 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
As per officials figures, 88,362 positive cases including 889 deaths and 78,929 recoveries are from Srinagar, 31,564 including 292 deaths and 26,059 recoveries are from Baramulla, 28,513 including 25,400 recoveries and 222 deaths are from Budgam, 16,715 including 15,682 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 16,346 including 170 deaths and 15,225 recoveries are from Kupwara, 18,570 including 16,577 recoveries and 212 deaths are from Anantnag, 11,508 cases including 10,289 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 11,946 including 11,012 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Ganderbal, 12,758 including 11,693 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,775 including 5,561 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 63,853 including 55,133 recoveries and 1,180 deaths are from Jammu district, 12,879 including 11,724 recoveries and 143 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,008 including 11,318 recoveries and 242 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,540 including 7,991 recoveries and 139 deaths are from Doda, 10,397 including 9,635 recoveries and 157 deaths are from Kathua, 7,985 including 7,318 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 5,080 including 4,933 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,137 including 6,691 recoveries and 104 deaths are from Poonch, 6,347 including 6,112 recoveries and 68 deaths are from Ramban and 8,098 including 7,626 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,602,163 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,829 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 34,882 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 5,125,494 persons have completed the surveillance period and 429,367 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 20,688,396 samples are available. Out of 20,688,396 the number of samples tested negative stands at 20,304,015 while as 384,381 have tested positive, among them 34,882 persons are active, 344,908 persons have recovered and 4,591 persons have died.
