KARNAH, SEPTEMBER 20: As part of an ongoing ‘Sewa Parv’ campaign, Secretary, Rural Development Department (RDD) and Panchayati Raj, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today conducted an extensive tour of Karnah to review the implementation of developmental schemes on the ground.

MLA Karnah, Javaid Ahmad Mirchal and other concerned officers of Rural development department were also present on the occasion.

During the visit, Secretary Asad undertook a detailed review of developmental activities carried out by the RDD, with special focus on employment generation under MGNREGA, asset creation under Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen), and the registration status under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin).
He directed the officers and field staff to ensure timely and quality completion of all works.

The Secretary, along with MLA Karnah, Javid Ahmad Mirchal also held a public Grievance Redressal Camp at Teetwal and interacted with scores of public delegations who raised their issues and sought intervention of the government.

The public outreach event at Teetwal witnessed enthusiastic participation from a cross-section of society, including youth, senior citizens and civil society representatives. The locals raised several pressing demands related to improving rural road connectivity, ensuring regular water supply, enhancing health services, upgrading education infrastructure and creating employment avenues for the youth.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Karnah Javaid Ahmad Mirchal urged the department to give special priority to Karnah, highlighting its unique challenges as a border area that remains cut off for months each year.

He reiterated his commitment to ensuring the speedy execution of public welfare initiatives and demanded that the RDD Blocks of Karnah be equipped with adequate manpower and funds to address the needs of this remote region.

On the occasion, the Secretary sanctioned key civic amenities for Yatris visiting the historic Sharda Temple in Teetwal like construction of public convenience block, drinking water facilities and Yatri Halt sheds to provide shelter, addressing a long-standing demand of the local community and devotees.

“The development of border areas is our priority, and this includes facilitating spiritual and religious tourism. Providing these basic amenities at Sharda Temple is a step towards recognizing its importance and ensuring devotees can visit with comfort and dignity,” Secretary Asad stated.

As part of the ongoing “Swachhata Hi Sewa” campaign, the Secretary also conducted a plantation drive at the Forest Dak Bungalow in Teetwal. He also flagged off sanitation vehicles for door-to-door waste collection in the block, and launched a signature campaign for the ‘Swachhta Pledge’.

During the event, the Secretary also distributed allotment letters for CSCs for the Play Field and Masjid Shareef Awan Mohalla Teetwal. He assured the public that their demand for a public park would be addressed and necessary funds for fencing the Teetwal playground would be arranged at the earliest.

The outreach programme concluded with a detailed interaction session where the Secretary patiently heard individual grievances and suggestions, assuring their time-bound redressal through proper administrative channels.

He emphasized the critical role of public participation in the planning and implementation of development projects and directed officers to prioritize transparency, efficiency, and timely completion.

Later, the Secretary visited the remote border villages of Seemari and Hajinard to inspect the quality of ongoing works under schemes like RGSA and MGNREGA, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to inclusive development at the grassroots level.
