DODA, SEPTEMBER 20: Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review and finalize the arrangements for the upcoming festivals of Navratras, Mahanavmi, Dussehra and Diwali, commencing from September 22. The meeting focused on ensuring smooth and peaceful celebrations across the district with adequate civic, security, and administrative measures.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination to maintain law and order, regulate traffic, and ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during the festive days. He directed officials to take preventive measures related to fire safety, crowd management, sanitation, and medical emergencies, especially around religious places, marketplaces, and Ram Leela venues. Instructions were also issued for the availability of essential commodities, strict market inspections, and action against overpricing or adulteration.
Special directions were given to the Police, Municipal bodies, Food Safety, Legal Metrology, Fire & Emergency Services, and Health Department for providing sufficient security, sanitation, fire tenders, and first aid facilities at all major congregation points. The DC urged all stakeholders, including market associations and community leaders, to extend full cooperation for maintaining communal harmony and festive spirit.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, Additional District Development Commissioner Doda, Assistant Commissioner Development Doda, ASP Headquarters Doda, Chief Medical Officer Doda, Medical Superintendent GMC Doda, District Information Officer Doda, Executive Engineers of PHE, PWD and JPDCL, and representatives of the Sanatan Dharam Sabha. Besides, ADC Bhaderwah, ASP Bhaderwah, SDMs of Gandhoh, Thathri and Assar, SDPOs, and Executive Officers of MC Thathri and Bhaderwah joined virtually.
