RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 30: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv campaign, a Nikshay Mitra Nutritional Kits Distribution Programme was organised today at Dak Bungalow in presence of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma.
The DSEO Rajouri (Nodal Officer for the Tuberculosis Elimination Programme) Sandeep Sharma, briefed that out of a vulnerable population of 1.56 lakh in the district, nearly 1.40 lakh individuals have already been screened. He further added that Rajouri district ranks second in the Union Territory after Srinagar in terms of maximum population screened under the programme.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme and called for collective efforts to eradicate the disease. He interacted with TB patients, ASHA workers and Nikshay Mitras, distributed nutritional kits among patients, and appreciated the efforts of the nodal officer and health teams. He also directed Nikshay Mitras to ensure regular follow-ups and home visits to monitor patients effectively.
As part of the programme, appreciation certificates were also distributed to the recovered patients, recognising their strength and determination in overcoming the disease.
Similar distribution drives were simultaneously organised across all sub-divisions of the district today.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri also registered himself as a Nikshay Mitra and adopted a patient. He remarked that citizens’ contributions under Viksit Bharat can play a vital role in nation-building and expressed pride in being part of the campaign.
Chief Medical Officer Rajouri, Dr. Manohar Lal Rana, District Tuberculosis Officer and other district and sectoral officers were also present on the occasion.
