GANDERBAL: As part of the weekly Block Diwas initiative launched by the Government of J&K, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna Wednesday conducted interaction programme with the Sarpanches of all blocks of the district at Conference Hall Mini Secretariat, here.
During the interaction programme, Sarpanches apprised the DDC about various issues related to augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, desilting of irrigation canals, dearth of staff in schools, community hall and Public Park in Kangan and other demands of public importance.
The DDC patiently listened to all the issues and demands put forth by the PRIs and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments that should be resolved at an earliest.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the purpose of holding Block Diwas is to have firsthand appraisal about the issues and demands being faced by the people and to provide on spot redressal of possible grievances. She also urged the officers to work with zeal and close coordination of PRIs to achieve targets on time.
The education department was directed to share the details about student teacher ratio in all government schools.
Regarding macadamization, the DDC directed the executive Engineer R&B to prioritize those roads that have not been macadamized for a long time in the district and other main roads.
Interacting with the Sarpanches, the DDC urged them to play their active role in checking feasibility of the works that are put in District CAPEX plan 2022-23 so that plan is finalized and approved at an earliest. She urged the Sarpanches of Kangan and Gund blocks that works of higher reaches in these blocks should be taken on priority so that these works could be completed on time once the plan is approved.
Among others, Block Diwas was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Nikhil Borkar, ADDC, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Ex. Engineers of various wings, ACP, Dy. CEO, BDOs and other concerned.
