BANDIPORA, MAY 05: The ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan continued across Bandipora district on Tuesday with a series of anti-drug awareness rallies, IEC activities, yoga sessions and community outreach programmes organised in various educational institutions to spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
Awareness rallies under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan were organised by PM SHRI Girls High School Sumbal, Boys Middle School Pethkoot, BHSS Aloosa, HS Jurniyal Tulail, PM SHRI Government High School Odina, High School Ahamshareef, PM SHRI HSS Shadipora, Govt High School Garoora, High School Achoora, MS Mirpora, HSS Gadakhud, HSS Shahgund, HSS Chuntimulla, HSS Budoab, HS Panar, H.S Onagam and HS Tarabal.
During the rallies, students and staff carried placards and banners displaying anti-drug messages and raised slogans highlighting the ill effects of drug addiction. The rallies passed through different localities to sensitise the public, especially youth, about the importance of a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
At HSS Gadakhud, students, teachers and members of civil society participated in a large anti-drug rally, while speakers highlighted the adverse impact of substance abuse on society and youth.
Meanwhile, awareness activities including poster redesign competitions and interaction programmes with local shopkeepers regarding tobacco control and ban on sale of related products near educational institutions were also organised at various institutions including HSS Chuntimulla and HS Ketson.
In addition, a yoga session under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan was conducted at Government Degree College Sumbal by the Department of Ayush Bandipora to promote physical and mental well-being among students.
The programmes witnessed active participation of students, teachers and community members, reflecting the collective commitment towards creating a drug-free and healthy society under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.
