UDHAMPUR, MAY 08: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa, today chaired a meeting with representatives of social organisations, civil society members and religious heads to seek their active support in mobilising community participation and strengthening the implementation of the three-month-long Nasha Mukt Udhampur Abhiyan launched by the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Amrit Pal Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh and other officers.

While interacting with the participants, the Deputy Commissioner briefed them about the three-month schedule of activities planned under the campaign. He emphasised the importance of engaging youth in constructive and positive initiatives, stating that their active participation would play a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation of the campaign at the grassroots level.

He informed that a series of awareness programmes, outreach activities and camps would be organised across the district during the campaign period to educate the public about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free society.

The DC appealed to all participants to join hands with the district administration for the successful execution of the campaign. He urged them to contribute actively and share valuable suggestions to make the initiative more impactful and result-oriented.

Highlighting the importance of collective responsibility, the DC underscored the vital role of social organisations, religious leaders and respected members of society in spreading awareness and guiding the youth away from the menace of drug abuse.

The civil society members and prominent citizens present in the meeting assured full cooperation and extended their wholehearted support to the District Administration in making the Nasha Mukt Udhampur Abhiyan a grand success.
