DODA, MAY 14: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, an awareness programme on prevention of drug abuse was organized by the Health Department at Hussain Paramedical Institute Ghat (Doda).
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tanveer Ahmed Rather and under the supervision of local Block Medical Officer Dr. Abdul Gafoor.
Among those present on the occasion were Umar Anayat (Epidemiologist), Mashhood Latif (BM&EO Ghat), Dr. Tarif Younas (MLHP) and Faizan A. Tramboo (Incharge Health Media Desk). Director of the Institute, Mudassir Wani, along with faculty members and students also participated in the programme.
During the event, representatives from the Health Department delivered awareness lectures highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of collective efforts in building a drug free society under the ongoing campaign.
A symposium on drug abuse was also organized in which students of the institute, including Zahid Shafiq, Ruqaya Banoo, Muzamil Ahmed and Jyoti Devi, expressed their views and spoke about the growing need for awareness and prevention of substance abuse among youth.
Later, prizes were given to the participating students. A collective pledge was taken by all attendees to support the mission of a drug free Jammu & Kashmir and district Doda.
