Stresses mass awareness, coordination among stakeholder departments

DC Kishtwar reviews preparations for Census–2027

KISHTWAR, MAY 15: A meeting to discuss arrangements for the upcoming Census–2027 was convened today in the Conference Hall of the New DC Office Complex Kishtwar.

Principal Census Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Pankaj Kumar Sharma chaired the meeting and reviewed various aspects related to Census–2027, with special focus on Self-Enumeration, IEC (Information, Education and Communication) activities, inter-departmental coordination and other logistical arrangements required for the smooth conduct of census-related activities across the district.

The meeting was informed that the Self-Enumeration phase shall be conducted from May 17 to May 31, 2026. Citizens can complete their online self-enumeration through the official Census website.

The District and Sectoral Officers of the line departments were directed to extend full cooperation and make all necessary arrangements well in advance.

The DC also issued necessary directions regarding the main Census 2027 launch programme in the district scheduled to be held at the Mini Secretariat, New DC Office on May 17, 2026.

The Revenue, Education, Health, Rural Development, Municipal Committee and other line departments were directed to ensure seamless execution of assigned responsibilities.

Further, the Deputy Commissioner directed all government employees to remain present and complete their self-enumeration on the inaugural day to lead by example and encourage public participation in the exercise.

The DC stressed on extensive public awareness and timely execution of responsibilities to ensure the successful conduct of Census operations in District Kishtwar.

The meeting was attended by ADC (DCO) Pawan Kotwal, PO ICDS Rishi Kumar Sharma; CEO KDA Kaiser Bhawani; CPO Akhil Thakur; ACR Idrees lone; ACD Manoj Kumar; DSWO Tariq Parveaz Qazi; CEO Municipal Council Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal besides other District and Sectoral Officers and concerned staff.
