Mission Shakti Budgam organises Awareness Programme on Women Safety at GHSS Budgam

BUDGAM, MAY 18: An awareness programme on Women Safety Mechanisms, Helplines and Support Services was organised by the SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of Women Mission Shakti Budgam at Government Girls

Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Budgam with active participation of students, teachers and police officials.

District Mission Coordinator, Afroza Ahad, sensitised the participants about various women safety mechanisms, emergency helplines and support services available under Mission Shakti. She also highlighted the importance of the SHE-Box platform for addressing complaints related to workplace harassment and encouraged students to remain aware about their rights and available support systems.

Speaking on the occasion, Dy.SP, Sajad Ahmad Malik delivered an awareness session on cyber crime, cyber hygiene, stalking and coping mechanisms. He also elaborated on different legal provisions and sections related to cyber crimes and offences against women, while urging students to use social media and digital platforms responsibly.

The programme also included a seminar competition on the theme “Women Empowerment,” wherein students shared their views and perspectives on the subject. The participants were felicitated for their active participation and performances.

The event concluded with a pledge ceremony organised under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, reaffirming the collective commitment towards women empowerment, safety and gender equality.
