DC reviews arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha at Kulgam

KULGAM, MAY 18: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam today convened a meeting of officers to review the arrangements put in place for the upcoming festive occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.

During the meeting, the DC directed officers of the Jal Shakti Department and KPDCL to ensure smooth supply of water and electricity across the district. He also instructed the Jal Shakti Department to keep water tankers available in required areas and ensure that no locality faces any shortage of drinking water.

District Sheep Husbandry Officer informed the chair that adequate numbers of sacrificial animals, including sheep and goats, are available in the district.

Chief Animal Husbandry Officer informed the meeting that sufficient poultry stock is also available to meet public demand during the festive days.

The DC further directed the concerned authorities to intensify market checking to ensure the quality and availability of essential commodities, including bakery and confectionery items, milk, meat, chicken, vegetables, and other essentials in the markets.

Municipal authorities were directed to ensure proper sanitation in towns, mosques, and Eidgahs. They were also instructed to repair defunct streetlights, if any, to facilitate the public during the festival.

He also directed the concerned authorities to identify designated locations for proper disposal of offal to maintain cleanliness and hygiene during Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.

On the occasion, Traffic Police authorities were asked to ensure smooth regulation of traffic across the district.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, ACR, Tehsildars, Executive Engineers, Executive Officers and other officers.
