JAMMU, AUGUST 20: The Additional District Magistrate, Jammu, Ansuya Jamwal, today chaired a meeting to review the district administration’s preparedness for the celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. Imams and representatives of various religious bodies attended the meeting, along with senior officers from the line departments concerned.
The meeting was informed that five major religious processions are planned to be taken out across Jammu district on August 26. The routes and timings of these processions have already been finalized to ensure their smooth and peaceful conduct.
The Additional District Magistrate emphasized the need for foolproof security and effective traffic management along the procession routes and at important congregation points. She directed the Jammu Municipal Corporation to carry out special sanitation and fogging drives across the city ahead of the festival, particularly along procession routes, Eidgahs and other prayer venues.
Traffic and security deployment plans were reviewed in detail. The Additional District Magistrate issued directions to the officers concerned to ensure adequate deployment of personnel for the maintenance of law and order and smooth vehicular movement.
She directed the Power Development Department to ensure regular and uninterrupted power supply during the celebrations and to keep adequate contingency arrangements in place to address any technical exigency promptly. The deployment of health teams along the procession routes and at major congregation points was also reviewed to ensure timely medical assistance to devotees, if required.
The Additional District Magistrate also sought feedback and inputs from the religious representatives present, which were noted and discussed in detail for incorporation into the final arrangements.
Among those present were the Assistant Commissioner (General), Sania Haq Khan; District Health Officer, Dr Sophia Jan; Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic), City Jammu, Arvinder Singh Kotwal; Health Officer, Jammu Municipal Corporation, and other officers of the district administration.
