Srinagar: J&K Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary (organisation) Ashok Koul on Monday said Chief Election Officer has not committed any mistake in his statement as people who has been here for the last two or three years will be given the right to vote while their names will be removed from previous places.

Talking to media persons here at Srinagar, he said that the non-local people who have been living in Jammu and Kashmir for the last two to three years have been given the right to vote here while the Chief Election Officer has not made any mistake in his statement, what he has said is what the law is saying.

“If the leaders of J&K can contest elections outside J&K, why should the outsiders not be given the right to vote here?, he questioned.

About demographic changes, he said that there will be no demographic change in J&K neither there is any motive regarding it. (KNS)
