B’Pora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Wednesday distributed sports kits among various Sports Clubs and associations.
Joint Director Planning, Imtiyaz Ahmad, In-charge Activities Nasir Hussain, young footballer Aaquib Amin and other senior officials of the district were present on the occasion.
The officers handed over sports kits including footballs, cones, hurdlesm football shoes, mats for martial arts and other activities besides other sports equipments.
While interacting with the sport persons and representatives of various sports clubs and associations, the DC said that the district administration is keen to develop sports infrastructure in the district.
He said under different schemes, not only the play fields are being developed in every village but sports items are also distributed among the sports clubs of different villages besides numerous tournaments are organised under Khelo India.
He said with the improvement in weather conditions, the outdoor sports activities shall start soon and Department of Youth Services and Sports will come up with a detailed calendar of activities.
