GANDERBAL, JULY 30: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a meeting of the District Advisory Committee to review the implementation of the MY Bharat Youth Engagement Programme in the district and discussed measures for strengthening youth participation through coordinated efforts of stakeholder departments.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress achieved under the MY Bharat initiative and emphasized the need for greater convergence among departments to ensure effective implementation of the programme across the district. He stressed that the initiative provides a unique platform for empowering youth through volunteering, experiential learning, leadership development, skill enhancement and community engagement.
The DC directed all stakeholder departments to work in close coordination to maximize youth participation and ensure wider outreach of the programme at the grassroots level. He impressed upon the officers to actively involve educational institutions, youth clubs, NSS, NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guides and other youth organizations for encouraging registration and participation under the MY Bharat initiative.
The meeting was informed about the various opportunities available to youth through the MY Bharat platform, including volunteering programmes, mentorship initiatives, community service, capacity-building activities and experiential learning aimed at nurturing responsible and empowered young citizens.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that every eligible youth should be encouraged to register on the MY Bharat Portal and participate in various activities being undertaken under the flagship initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. He directed the concerned departments to organize awareness and outreach programmes to ensure maximum registration and active participation of youth from all sections of society.
During the meeting, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat, Ganderbal, Gopal Namdeo, presented a detailed overview of the MY Bharat Youth Engagement Programme and highlighted the various initiatives and opportunities available for youth through the platform.
Calling for collective efforts, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated that empowering youth through meaningful engagement and community participation is essential for nation-building and sustainable development. He urged all departments to work in close coordination for the successful implementation of the MY Bharat programme in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, District Information Officer, Assistant Director Employment, District AYUSH Officer, General Manager District Industries Centre, Principals of Government Degree College Ganderbal and Government Degree College Kangan, Government College of Engineering & Technology Safapora, Government Polytechnic Hathbora, Superintendent ITI, representatives of NCC, NSS, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Red Cross Society and other stakeholder departments.
