DC Ramban directs time-bound disposal of revenue matters, expedited public service delivery at Revenue Department review

RAMBAN, JULY 29: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting of senior Revenue officers to review the functioning of the Revenue Department and assess the status of restoration works undertaken following the recent heavy rainfall across the district.

Khan instructed all Tehsildars to ensure prompt redressal of public grievances, achieve the prescribed targets well within the stipulated timelines and personally monitor the progress of all pending cases.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the implementation of the SVAMITVA Scheme and directed the Tehsildars to expedite the distribution of pending Property Cards, compile the latest figures of pending cases and verify the records with the Survey of India (SOI). On the Agristack Digitisation initiative, he directed the officers concerned to expedite implementation and achieve the targets within the prescribed timeline.

On the digitisation of land records, the DC directed that the Lock-up of Jamabandi be completed on or before August 15, 2026 without fail, and instructed all Tehsildars to ensure timely ground truthing of geo-referenced maps in their respective jurisdictions.

On revenue litigation, the Deputy Commissioner directed Tehsildars and other officers concerned to submit detailed reports in all pending court cases in time to facilitate their early disposal. He instructed them to ensure timely mutation of acquired land, expedite final awards in acquisition cases, regularly monitor works on the Revenue Department and other Government buildings and take action against illegal constructions in accordance with law.

The DC also reviewed the restoration of essential services and public infrastructure affected by recent heavy rainfall and instructed the SDMs and Tehsildars to closely monitor restoration works in their respective areas and coordinate with line departments to ensure early restoration of roads, public utilities and other essential services, while remaining accessible to the public and addressing grievances on priority.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb Bajraan, SDM Gool Imtiaz Ahmed, SDM Ramsoo Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah and all Tehsildars of the district.
