RAMBAN, JULY 18: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting to review arrangements for celebration of the 80th Independence Day in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officers concerned to ensure arrangements are in place well in advance and outlined the celebration plan. The DC also directed SDMs to ensure similar arrangements for Independence Day celebrations at the subdivision, tehsil and institutional levels in their jurisdictions.
During the meeting, SSP Ramban Arun Gupta briefed participants on security arrangements and assured foolproof security for the event. He also offered suggestions to departments for the celebrations. SSP Traffic NHW Raja Adil Hamid presented the traffic management plan to ensure smooth vehicular movement and proper parking arrangements during the event.
Earlier, ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak gave a department-wise presentation on the preparations and outlined the roles and responsibilities of different departments.
A Swachhata Abhiyan will be conducted across the district from August 1 to 14 and a plantation drive will be organised on August 14 to promote environmental awareness as part of the celebrations.
Among those present were SSP Traffic NHW Raja Adil Hamid, ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo, SDM Ramsoo Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah, ACD Sheraz Ahmed and officers from various civil departments, Police and CRPF. SDMs Gool and Banihal attended the meeting virtually.
