SRINAGAR, APRIL 23: In order to review the status of proposed major developmental projects and ongoing infrastructure works in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo today chaired a comprehensive meeting of senior Officers here at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office complex.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Chief Engineer SSCl, Abdul Qayoom Kirmani, Superintending Engineer R&B, Tatheer Manzoor, Joint Commisisoner, SMC, Suhail ul Islam, Collector Land Acquisition R&B, Syed Farooq, SDM West, Irfan Bahadur, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, KPDCL, City Drainage, UEED & SMC Tehsildars South, Tehsildar Shalteng and other Officers.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner undertook a comprehensive assessment of the progress in planning and execution of utility shifting for both proposed and ongoing works, emphasizing the need to further expedite the process to accelerate overall project execution.
The DC was given project wise appraisal regarding the current status of estimate preparations and utility shifting for key development projects and ongoing infrastructure works including 4L Flyover from Parimpora to Dalgate Junction, Parimpora-Shalteng Flyover, Vehicle Under Pass (VUP) at Moominabad, Panthachowk flyover, FOB at Children’s Hospital Bemina, expansion of Boulevard road and Vehicle Under Pass (VUP) at Nowgam Railway Crossing.
The DC was apprised that the encouraging progress has been achieved in the preparation of estimates of proposed major infrastructural projects with several key projects at advanced stages of finalization.
On the occasion, the DC emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination in timely addressing issues related to land acquisition, clearances and utility relocation. He stressed the need to work diligently on designs, technical feasibility and cost estimates to ensure that DPRs are robust, accurate and ready for timely submission and approval.
The DC directed Officers and Engineers to work with due diligence and ensure that all projects incorporate land acquisition costs in their DPRs for seamless and uninterrupted execution of major infrastructure development projects across the district within set timelines.
