RAMBAN, AUGUST 29: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulbir Singh on Thursday visited the cloudburst-affected area of Rajgarh. They met with the affected families to assess the situation and offered their condolences to the affected families.
Accompanied by a team of officials, the DC took detailed stock of the extent of the damage and the relief measures being made for the affected people and expressed profound sorrow over the loss of lives.

DC Chaudhary highlighted the immediate and coordinated response initiated by the district’s Civil and Police Administration in the wake of the cloudburst on August 26, 2024. The rescue operations, launched in collaboration with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and local Quick Response Teams (QRTs), have so far resulted in the recovery of three bodies from the seven reported missing. Search efforts continue with urgency to locate the remaining individuals.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of safety, particularly urging students to be extra careful while going to schools and advising all residents to avoid crossing the treacherous nallas during rains.
