UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 22: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today chaired a meeting of the District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals here in the Mini Conference Hall, DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh and members of the District SPCA.
Detailed discussions were held on various aspects related to the identification and development of land for the construction of an animal shelter, creation of necessary infrastructure and conducting awareness programmes regarding animal welfare and prevention of cruelty.
The Deputy Commissioner informed the meeting that land has already been identified for the construction of an animal shelter. He directed the ACR to ensure early demarcation of the identified land. He directed the concerned officers to organize awareness programmes across the district to sensitise the public about animal welfare, responsible animal care and the role of the SPCA. “The core objective of the District SPCA is the welfare and well-being of animals and address issues related to animal cruelty,” he emphasised.
