SAMBA, DECEMBER 19: A district-level Mega Camp on unclaimed deposits was today organised at Samba under the nationwide campaign “Aapki Poonji, Aapka Adhikar – Your Money, Your Right”, launched by the Union government and being conducted from October to December 2025 with an aim to facilitate settlement of unclaimed deposits regulated by RBI, MCA, SEBI, IRDAI and PFRDA.

Chairman District Development Council Samba Keshav Dutt Sharma, graced the programme as the Chief Guest.
Participants were informed about the RBI’s UDGAM Portal, which enables citizens to search and claim unclaimed deposits across banks through a single digital platform. It was highlighted that ₹13.16 crore is lying as unclaimed deposits in banks across Samba district.

Awareness was also raised regarding the social security schemes including Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).

A key highlight of the programme was the distribution of cheques amounting to ₹43.15 lakh to 32 beneficiaries, who successfully claimed their unclaimed deposits. The cheques were handed over by senior RBI officials.

The Sub Divisional Magistrate appreciated the efforts of the Lead District Manager and banking institutions and urged them to intensify outreach activities. The public was advised to keep bank records updated, complete KYC formalities, and ensure regular account activity to prevent accounts from becoming unclaimed.

The programme was organised by Lead District Manager (LDM) Subash Chander at the Municipal Council Hall Vijaypur and attended by Vibha Gupta, Deputy General Manager, RBI; Mitesh Kumar, Assistant General Manager RBI; Amandeep Singh; LDO RBI and Ankur Sharma, Regional Manager RBO-III Jammu, besides Director SBI RSETI Samba; DDM NABARD Samba; Cluster Head, J&K Bank and representatives from Punjab National Bank, among other banking institutions.
