KATHUA, FEBRUARY 20: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kathua is organizing Pre-Lok Adalat from February 21 to March 7, 2025 ahead of this year’s first National Lok Adalat (NLA) scheduled on March 8, 2025 and being held at the ADR Centre of the Court Complex.

The initiative aims to facilitate the amicable settlement and final disposal of cases by providing litigants and advocates a platform to resolve disputes efficiently.

The Pre-Lok Adalat will take up both pre-litigation and pending cases. Pre-litigation cases include cheque bounce cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act, bank recovery cases, labour disputes, and water bill disputes.

The pending cases such as criminal compoundable cases, Negotiable Instrument Act (Cheque Bounce Cases), bank recovery cases, besides MACT (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) cases, matrimonial disputes, domestic violence and maintenance cases, land acquisition matters, labour challans, and civil cases will also be considered for settlement.

Individuals or departments interested in resolving disputes through the Lok Adalat are encouraged to approach the office of the District Legal Services Authority, Kathua, with relevant case details, including case title, case number, date of hearing, and court name, for listing before the Lok Adalat bench.
