Mumbai, Aug 26: Pharma major Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd has joined forces with The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists (IADVL) to unveil a special cover aimed at raising awareness and support for individuals living with vitiligo, a skin disorder that affects pigmentation.
In an effort to combat misinformation and promote acceptance, Glenmark and IADVL conducted a unique painting competition, named “Power of Paint and Brush”. on World Vitiligo Day, June 25, a press release stated here on Saturday.
Dr Naushin Ara from Jaipur SMS Medical College crafted the winning painting, titled “Colour of Thoughts”. The winning artwork has been transformed into a captivating special cover that will serve as a constant reminder of the significance of empathy, acceptance, and respect for those affected by vitiligo.
Speaking on the occasion, Alok Malik, president & Business head of India Formulations at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd., said, “This initiative underscores our steadfast dedication to fostering empathy and harmony, reaffirming our pledge to create a meaningful difference in the lives of people with vitiligo in the country.”
Dr Vijay Zawar, president of IADVL, said, “This special cover is a small but impactful step towards supporting vitiligo patients and promoting a more inclusive society.”
