Former Minister and MLA for Bandipora, Usman Majid, on Monday reaffirmed his commitment to Bandipora’s development and prosperity. Majid in a Statement said that, “I am the sole guarantee for Bandipora’s advancement, and under my leadership, Bandipora will reach new heights of development.”

He said that, Before 2002, Bandipora was a town struggling with backwardness and neglect, yearning for development and a better future. It was Usman Majid who brought about the transformation that Bandipora so desperately needed after his first election victory. Under his stewardship, both as MLA and subsequently as the Planning Minister, Bandipora has witnessed unprecedented infrastructure development and economic growth. Roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and other vital infrastructure projects have not only been initiated but also completed, laying a strong foundation for a brighter future. The economic landscape has been revitalized, with new opportunities emerging for the people, transforming Bandipora into a beacon of progress in our region.

Majid convened a series of workers’ meetings in Nussoo, Lankreshripora area of Bandipora, to strengthen the base in the Bandipora constituency. The meetings saw enthusiastic participation, all driven by the clear mandate of securing an emphatic victory. He said that, Our mission and vision are resonating strongly, as we reach out to every Bandiporian. On the Occasion, many workers from various political parties joined our caravan, further bolstering our efforts.

Speaking on the occasion, Majid emphasized that he is committed to continuing the transformation of Bandipora by establishing a Government Medical College and a Women’s Degree College, bringing advanced education and empowerment closer to home.

During his campaign trail, Majid welcomed Haji Yasir Mehmood Parray, a prominent political activist and son-in-law of the PDP District President, Bandipora, to the caravan. He said that Parray’s joining is a significant boost, and his experience in public life is expected to greatly benefit their efforts moving forward.

Majid also conducted an important workers’ meeting in Bandipora town with loyalists and a dedicated team to strengthen the base in the area. Several well-known political workers joined the meeting, and their inclusion is expected to further solidify Majid’s presence on the ground. The goal is to change the destiny of Bandipora and transform it into a model town. Majid also welcomed prominent figures from various regions, including Abdul Samad Lone, a retired J&K Bank Manager from Gundpora, Gh Mohammad Dar and Nisar Ahmad Malla from Ayathmulla, and prominent businessman Athar Ahmad Mir from Ward 6 of the Bandipora constituency

Majid also addressed a series of meetings across the Bandipora constituency, including in Nathpora, Ashtingoo, Aloosa, Bandipora town, Khayar, and other areas. These meetings are part of his ongoing efforts to intensify his election campaign and strengthen his support base. Addressing the workers, Majid said he has always advocated for quality education, aiming to provide children in Bandipora with the tools they need to compete globally. He remains determined to revitalize the educational setup in Bandipora and restore the “Alim” institution to its former glory.

He encouraged the workers to intensify their efforts and strengthen their commitment to ensure a decisive victory in the upcoming elections. The addition of new members from other parties not only strengthens Majid’s position but also enhances his capacity to address the needs and aspirations of the people of Bandipora.

Majid asserted that “Bandipora is my home, and I have always believed in its potential. My focus has always been on delivering tangible results for the people of this constituency. I am committed to continuing this journey and ensuring that Bandipora becomes a model of development and progress. The trust the people have placed in me is something I value deeply, and I will continue to work tirelessly to meet their expectations.”

Majid added that there is a need for continued support from the people of Bandipora to carry forward the development agenda. He emphasized that his vision for the district includes further improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and the creation of sustainable livelihoods for the Bandiporians. The people of Bandipora are fully aware that Usman Majid is the sole guarantee for their region’s development and prosperity. I am sure that they will vote en masse in our favour, ensuring a decisive victory for our cause, he added further.
