Independence Day: Multi-layered Security Cover In Place Across J&K: DGP Dilbag Singh

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh on Sunday said that multi-Layered security arrangements are in place for Independence Day celebrations in Jammy and Kashmir.

J&K police chief said this while talking to media persons here at Srinagar, said.

“Multi-layered security arrangements have been out in place across J&K in views of Independence Day celebrations tomorrow. Technology is being used at several sensitive location to make security grid more vigilant and there is no room for any loopholes,” he said.

Regarding infiltration, he said that the infiltration has been unprecedented in J&K this year. However, he said that efforts were made continuously by them and they( Infiltrators) got success once or twice.

“Border security situation is better than before now but sending arms through drones  here,” he said.

“Several major modules involved in drone act were busted by security forces and arms, ammunitions and narcotics were recovered from them,” he added.

The DGP futher said that still young boys are being provoked here in different ways particularly they are being involved in Hybrid militancy but many youth who had gone astray were counseled by the security forces and handed over to their parents but the conspiracy is still continued.

With regard to militancy recruitment, he has said that its number has decreased a lot in the last few years but much more needs to be done and is being worked on which will further reduce the militancy graph.

“Many young men went to Pakistan on valid documents pertaining to student or tourist visas as many such militants were killed in encounters after infiltrating through the border,”  he said.(KNS)
