Budgam, Sep 25 : Kashmiri Pandits in Budgam on Wednesday said they voted for a brighter future marked by improved employment opportunities, better infrastructure and solutions to their long-standing issues.

At the polling station in Government Girls Higher Secondary School, the voters spoke with the news agency and shared their desire for strong leadership capable of effecting meaningful change in the region.

One voter remarked, “We are voting in the hope that unemployment will be reduced and our children will secure jobs. We need a leader who can support the poor and address the problems that have long been neglected.”

Shama, another voter at the station, said they seek enhanced infrastructure. “We are voting for better roads, improved water facilities and employment opportunities. It is essential that all Kashmiri Pandits who have not yet returned to the valley can come back and live peacefully,” she said.

Basic amenities like electricity and water were also key concerns. Shama added, “We hope for better water facilities and reduced electricity fees. These issues are critical and must be taken seriously by whoever comes into power.”

Overall, Kashmiri Pandits casting their votes in Budgam expressed optimism that this election could bring about the long-awaited development and stability in the valley
