KATHUA, AUGUST 13: In a vibrant display of patriotism and collective pride, the District Administration Kathua today organised a Padh Yatra as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
The Padh Yatra commenced in the evening from Shaheedi Chowk and culminated at the Martyr Memorial, District Police Lines Kathua. The event was attended by the DIG Jammu Samba Kathua Range Shridhar Patil, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma with senior officers of Civil and Police, officials and citizens participating with enthusiasm.
The District Administration, through the Padh Yatra, sought to provide a meaningful platform to the citizens and government functionaries to come together in remembrance of the freedom fighters and brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.
Marching from Shaheedi Chowk towards the Martyr Memorial, the participants raised the spirit of patriotism and national unity, reaffirming their commitment to the values of unity, integrity, service and responsible citizenship.
On reaching the Martyr Memorial at DPL Kathua, the Deputy Commissioner, officers and other participants paid solemn homage to the martyrs, remembering their unparalleled courage, valour and supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
The Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma highlighted that Independence Day is not only an occasion to celebrate the hard-earned freedom of the country but also an opportunity to remember those who sacrificed their lives for the nation and to inspire the younger generation to contribute positively towards nation-building.
The DC called upon citizens to actively contribute towards keeping Kathua clean, protecting the environment and water resources, maintaining civic responsibility and supporting developmental initiatives.
The enthusiastic participation of officers, officials and citizens reflected the strong bond between the administration and the people of Kathua and conveyed a collective message that the progress and prosperity of the district is a shared responsibility.
The event concluded at the Martyr Memorial with a renewed resolve to uphold the ideals of the nation and honour the legacy of the martyrs by working collectively towards a stronger, cleaner, more responsible and progressive Kathua.
