GANDERBAL, AUGUST 13: As part of the ongoing ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign-2026’, a Mega Shikara Rally was organised today at the picturesque Manasbal Lake, with enthusiastic participation of students, youth, government officials and a large number of members of the general public.
The Shikara Rally was led by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, and witnessed a vibrant display of the National Flag as a fleet of Shikaras, adorned with the Tricolour, sailed across the waters of Manasbal Lake.
The rally provided a unique expression of patriotism against the scenic backdrop of Manasbal, with participants carrying the National Flag and joining in patriotic celebrations. The sight of the Tricolour across the lake created a striking visual representation of national unity, pride and collective participation.
A 2-kilometre-long National Flag was also displayed along the venue, adding a spectacular dimension to the celebrations and symbolizing the collective spirit of the people towards the National Flag and the nation.
The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation of the general public, students, youth, officials and other stakeholders. The participation of citizens in large numbers reflected the growing public enthusiasm towards the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and their collective expression of patriotism and national pride.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the public, students and all stakeholders. He called upon citizens to continue participating in the various activities being organised under the campaign and urged the youth to take an active role in promoting the values of patriotism, unity, harmony and respect for the National Flag.
The vibrant Shikara Rally and the spectacular 2-kilometre Tricolour display at Manasbal added a distinctive and visually captivating dimension to the district-wide celebrations, reinforcing the message of patriotism, national unity and pride in the Tricolour.
The Shikara Rally formed part of the series of activities being organised across District Ganderbal, including Tiranga rallies, Har Ghar Tiranga pledges, mass singing of the National Anthem, patriotic programmes and Swachhata Hi Seva activities.
