Kishtwar: National Lok Adalat settles 197 cases

KISHTWAR, MARCH 09: In pursuance to the National Calendar and under directions of J&K Legal Services Authority, 1st National Lok Adalat for the Year 2024 was today organized in district Kishtwar by the District Legal Services Authority under the supervision and guidance of  Chairman  DLSA,  Manjeet Singh Manhas.

The National Lok Adalat heard Criminal Compoundable cases, Matrimonial cases, Maintenance, Civil, Recovery, labour,  MACT Cases  and Pre-Litigation and other cases by  2 benches constituted for the purpose.

The Bench No 1 consisted  of Manjeet Singh Manhas Principal District and Sessions Judge and Advocate Touqeer Mushtaq. The Second bench consisted of  Mahmud Anwar Al-Nasir Chief Judicial Magistrate and Sanveer Singh Assistant LADC Kishtwar.

A total of 234 cases were taken up out of which 197 cases of different nature were settled. An amount of Rs 50,90,641 was awarded to the claimants in MACT and other Cases.
