RAMBAN, JULY 29: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ramban and SKUAST Jammu today started a 15 day certificate course (training) on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) for Krishi Udhyamis of district Ramban at Dhalwas.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Vice Chancellor, SKUAST Jammu Dr B.N. Tripathi and organized by Senior Scientist & Incharge, KVK Ramban Dr Raj Kumar under the supervision of Dr Amrish Vaid, Director Extension SKUAST Jammu.
Chief Agricultural Officer Dr Vinay Kumar Jandial, DAO Kuldeep Raj Bassan, and District SMS Ramban Jyoti Parkash Sharma, were also present at the inaugural function of the programme. Trainees/Krishi Udhyamis from different Blocks of district Ramban enrolled for the certificate course joined this training programme.
The programme started with a welcome address by Senior Scientist & Incharge, KVK Ramban and briefed the participants about the content and outline of the 15 days programme schedule and highlighted the importance of the programme for the aspiring fertilizer dealers. He added that the organization of the 15 day INM course in the Ramban district will benefit not only the input dealers but also the farmers of the Ramban district.
On the first day of the programme, Dr Raj Kumar delivered a lecture on essential plant nutrients and their role and proper nutrient management to increase production and productivity of crops. He laid emphasis on use of balanced nutrient management by using recommended doses of fertilizers for different crops. Besides he deliberated and demonstrated the various components of Natural Farming.
The CAO threw light on the handling, stocking and transportation of fertilizers. He laid emphasis on use of balanced nutrient management by using recommended doses of fertilizers for different crops. The DAO deliberated upon the current scenario of fertilizer use in district Ramban. He also laid emphasis on the role of Krishi Udhyamis. The DL SMS briefed the participants about the nutrient content of different manures and fertilizers. Various queries of the participants were also answered by the organizer. Technical session ended with the vote of thanks.
