CUJ organises Capacity Building Training Program for stakeholders

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 29: The Department of Commerce, School of Social Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu, in collaboration with IEC Committee of Mission YUVA, today organised a Capacity Building Training Program under Mission YUVA (Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyaan).

The event was held under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Professor KS Chandrasekar.
The program focused on Youth Empowerment, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship. The event witnessed participation from all four Schools of the Cluster University of Jammu, with over 100 students and faculty members actively engaging in the program’s objectives. Dr. Neetu Kumari, Coordinator of the Department of Commerce, warmly welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the critical role of youth engagement in nation-building. She encouraged students to pursue entrepreneurial ventures to contribute to the economic development of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir.

Special Secretary, Department of Labour and Employment, Pawan Parihar highlighted the importance of Mission Yuva in equipping young minds with essential skills and opportunities for self-employment. He urged the youth to adopt a proactive approach to knowledge-based learning and to immerse themselves in innovation, skill development, and entrepreneurial endeavors.

Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, Assistant Professor, Central University of Jammu, emphasized that the entrepreneurial potential of Mission Yuva participants could be transformed into actionable ventures through proper training and guidance. He discussed the ecosystem created by this scheme for growth of youth. He also discussed employment status in J&K UT and across the country also. He further elaborated the program design including financial assistance provided by the government and its implementation strategy, creation of nano entrepreneurs, MSMEs.

Dr. Vishal Sharma, resource person and Nodal Officer for the Higher Education Department, UT of J&K, provided a comprehensive overview of the program’s goals and implementation phases.

The program was coordinated under supervision of Dr Vishal Sharma, Dean School of Social Sciences by Dr. Neetu Kumari (Convenor), with support from Dr. Rajneesh Karloopia (Co-convenor), Dr. Roshi Charak (Member), Dr. Parul Chhibber (Member) and Dr. Vaishali (Member).

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Vaishali, while the event proceedings were efficiently conducted by Dr. Roshi Charak. Other faculty members present were Dr Ajay Kumar Chalotra and Dr Anil Kumar.
