BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 29: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today visited Sopore sub-division and chaired a mega public outreach-cum-grievance redressal camp at Tujar Sopore as part of the ongoing Sewa Parv campaign.
The programme began with a plantation drive, during which the DC planted a sapling in the premises of the Community Hall, Tujar, symbolizing the commitment of the district administration towards environmental sustainability.
During the camp, locals and PRI representatives put forth a range of developmental issues and demands including drinking water supply, macadamization of roads and inner links, deficiency of staff in health institutions, restoration of bus service, desilting of Zaingeer canal, improvement in road connectivity, infrastructure upgradation of school buildings, shortage of staff in several schools, and construction of a playground for the area.
DC patiently listened to the concerns and issued on-spot directions to the concerned officers for immediate redressal of genuine issues. Several demands were addressed on the spot, bringing much relief to the local population.
DDC Member Sopore, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Assistant Commissioner Development Baramulla, and other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion besides a large gathering of local citizens.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that the programme is part of Sewa Parv, and a major focus of the campaign is public outreach and grievance redressal camps, aimed at bringing governance closer to the people. He also urged locals to avail the benefits of government welfare schemes, including PM Surya Ghar Yojana, Muft Bijli Yojana, Mission YUVA, and other schemes designed for the welfare and development of citizens.
Similar outreach-cum-grievance camps were also organized across the district under Sewa Parv at sub-divisions Pattan, Uri, Tangmarg, and at Baramulla Headquarters, ensuring maximum public participation and redressal of grievances.
