RAMBAN, NOVEMBER 14: Under the auspices of the District Task Force (DTC) Ramban and pursuant to directives issued by the Deputy Commissioner, a meticulous operation was today initiated to extricate and rehabilitate children in street situations-specifically those subjected to child labour and forced begging within the jurisdiction of Batote Town and contiguous localities.

A total of 7 seven minors were rescued and subsequently produced before the Child Welfare Committee at a provisional office established within the premises of GHSS Batote.

The parents and guardians of the affected minors were summoned for counseling and duly admonished, receiving a formal cautionary directive to desist from any conduct that contravenes the statutory protections governing child welfare.

The formal handover of these seven children to their respective families was executed under stringent oversight, with binding assurances secured from the guardians to abstain from re-engaging their wards in any labour-related activities that would impede their lawful rights to growth and development.

The initiative was executed under the authoritative guidance of the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, with overarching supervision by the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) and the Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Ramban.

The operation, involving the members of the District Task Force such as Amit Kumar, Assistant Labour Commissioner Ramban, and Nighat Ghani, Chairperson of the District Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Ramban, was supplemented by representatives from critical departments, including the District Child Protection Unit, Health Department, District Police, and Child Helpline.
