Ganderbal, Dec 02 : The residents living adjacent to Jamia Masjid Ganderbal have appealed to the Beacon authorities to install a speed breaker on the National Highway near the mosque, citing rising safety concerns.
The location, which sees heavy pedestrian movement, has been the site of multiple accidents due to speeding vehicles.
As per the news agency, the local community expressed concern about the frequent accidents, especially during peak hours.
“We are living in constant fear. Every day, people are crossing this busy road to reach the mosque, but the speed of vehicles passing by is alarming,” said a resident.
Another local resident added, “We have lost lives here, and it’s time for action. A speed breaker is a small step but could save many lives.”
Residents are urging the Beacon authorities to take immediate action and install a speed breaker or other traffic-calming measures near Jamia Masjid to ensure the safety of pedestrians and reduce the risk of accidents. They believe that such a move would greatly improve the situation and prevent further loss of life.
Locals are hoping the authorities will address this pressing concern promptly, ensuring that the area around Jamia Masjid becomes safer for all
