JAMMU, OCTOBER 29: The NSS unit and Women Development Cell of Government College of Education (GCE), Jammu on Tuesday celebrated Diwali with the children at the Muskan Centre, spreading joy and creating awareness about eco-friendly celebrations.

The initiative aimed to foster inclusivity while emphasizing that Diwali, the festival of lights, should be celebrated without contributing to environmental pollution.

Dr. Jyoti Parihar, the principal of the college, inaugurated the event, expressing her gratitude towards everyone involved in making the celebration special for the children. The NSS Program Officer, Professor Sarita Dogra, along with other faculty members—Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Professor Kiran Thapa, Professor Roopa Kumari, Professor Deepali, and Professor Ambica—actively participated in the celebrations.

The volunteers of the NSS unit adorned the centre with vibrant rangoli patterns and traditional diyas, creating a festive and warm ambiance. A cultural program followed, featuring music, dance, and interactive sessions with the children, ensuring their joyful participation. The volunteers also distributed eatables to the children, adding to the festive spirit and making the event even more memorable.
