National Lok Adalat held at ADR Centre Court Complex Kathua

KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 13: The National Lok Adalat was held today at the ADR Centre of the Court Complex, Kathua under the guidance of the Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Jatinder Singh Jamwal, (Principal District & Sessions Judge).

To facilitate the smooth conduct of the Lok Adalat, 2 benches were constituted at the district court complex and one each at Bani, Billawar, Mahanpur and Hiranagar.

The 1st Bench comprised the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jatinder Singh Jamwal and Additional District & Sessions Judge, Pravin Pandoh, the 2nd Bench comprised Chief Judicial Magistrate Ajay Sharma and District Mobile Magistrate (T) Neena Thakur.

Similarly, a bench comprising Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Poonam Gupta and Munsiff/JMIC Prashant Kumar was constituted at Billawar, while another bench comprising Munsiff/JMIC Meera Bangrota and Advocate Naresh Gupta was constituted at Hiranagar.

At Mahanpur the bench consisted of Munsiff/JMIC Kangana Gupta and Advocate Deep Kumar, while the Bani Bench consisted of Munsiff/JMIC Ashutosh Sharma .

A substantial number of cases were taken up for amicable settlement during the proceedings, resulting in successful resolutions and significant recovery of amounts tuning to Rs. 1,81,83,380.

The initiative reflects the commitment of the Judiciary and the Legal Services Authority towards promoting alternate dispute resolution mechanisms and ensuring timely justice to the public.
