KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 26: A Special Lok Adalat for Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) cases was held today at the ADR Centre, Court Complex Kathua, under the guidance of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pravin Pandoh.
For smooth conduct of the Special Lok Adalat, a Bench was constituted comprising Additional District & Sessions Judge Pravin Pandoh, and Secretary District Legal Services Authority Urvashi R. Bhargav.
A total 10 MACT cases were taken up for amicable settlement, out of which 03 were successfully settled, with a settlement amount of Rs. 10,75,000/.
The Special Lok Adalat reaffirmed the commitment of the Judiciary and the Legal Services Authority towards promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and facilitating speedy, amicable and cost-effective resolution of disputes, thereby ensuring timely access to justice for the public.
